Civil wedding in Alta Badia in the Dolomites

The first step is to go to the registry office of the municipality where at least one of the spouses resides to set the date for the ceremony and to apply for the marriage licence.

If two Italian nationals who meet the above requirements wish to get married, they must present the following documents:

• Valid identity document
• Proof of civil status
• Tax number
• Official stamp
• Personal declaration to be filled in at the civil registry office
• Delegation from the municipality of residence in Italy if you wish to get married in a municipality other than your own

If one of the spouses is a foreigner, the following documents must be presented in addition to those listed above:

• International identity card
• Birth certificate
• Marriage certificate issued by the competent consulate, translated into Italian and authenticated by an apostille
